Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
10 August 1999
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232
Mr.Mike Infurna
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber Avenue
Stockton,California 95202
Subject: Collection of Three B's Truck Plaza Domestic Drinking Water Well Samples
THREE B'S TRUCK PLAZA
14749 Thornton Road,Lodi,California
Dear Mr.Infuma:
As per our phone conversation on 10 August 1999,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.(AGE)recommends monthly
sampling of the domestic drinking water well located at 14749 Thornton Road(Three B's Truck Plaza),Lodi,California,
for analysis of methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE).
The State of California Department of Health Services has adopted a concentration of 13 µg/1 as an action level for
MTBE in March 1999,and has adopted a concentration of 5µg/1 as a secondary maximum contaminant level(MCL)
in January 1999.
The Three B's Truck Plaza domestic drinking water well was previously sampled in April of 1999. MTBE was not
detected at the domestic drinking water well;however MTBE was detected at a nearby ground water observation well
(MW-6) located less than 15 feet away at a concentration of 38 micrograms per liter(µg/1). MTBE concentrations
detected at MW-6 exceed the action levels of 13 µg/1 and exceed the secondary MCLS of 5 ug/l. Due to the close
proximity of MTBE-impact, AGE recommends that a monthly monitoring program be developed for sampling the
domestic drinking water well with respect to MTBE concentrations.Ground water samples will be logged on a chain-of-
custody form, placed in a chilled container and transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-
certified laboratory for analysis of MTBE by EPA Methods 8260.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at(209)467-1006.
Sincerely, iED GFO
\5 GNc Dfgso OG'
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc. c m

1
Timothy J. ell Nuel C.
