1
12 February 2003
. AGE-NC Project No 97-0249
' of the ground water samples collected on 06 December 2002
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
' The depths to ground water in wells MW-1 through MW-6 vaned from 10 92 to 13 95 feet below
the tops of the well casings, ground water elevations were calculated to be between 4 05 feet
(MW-1) and 4 38 feet (MW-4)below mean sea level Ground water elevation at the site increased
an average 5 45 feet between the September 2002 and the December 2002 ground water monitoring
events The ground water elevation data for MW-1 through MW-6 during the December 2002
' ground water monitoring event is depicted in Figure 3
Based on the ground water elevation data, ground water was inferred to be flowing east to southeast
' between Flag City Chevron wells MW-12A, MW-13A, MW-16 and Three B's Truck Plaza wells
MWA, MW-2, MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6 (Figure 3), in the area of Three B's Truck Plaza well
' MW-4, ground water was inferred to be flowing radially inwards towards a depression of the water
table located between Flag City Chevron wells MW-1,MW-2 and EW-1 The groundwater gradient
was calculated to be approximately 0 001 ft/f1 or less near the Rocky's Restaurant and Three B's
' • Truck Plaza sites
' 3 2 LABORATORY RESULTS OF MONITORING WELL GROUND WATER SAMPLES
A total of seven ground water samples were submitted for analysis to McCampbell Analytical Inc
' (MAI), a DHS-certified laboratory
TPH-g was detected in the water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-5 and
' MW-6 at concentrations ranging between 68 micrograms per liter(µg/1)in sample MW-5 and 15,000
µg/1 (MW-3), the laboratory reported each TPH-g chromatogram as having unmodified or weakly
modified gasoline patterns TPH-d was detected in water samples collected from MW-1, MW-2,
MW-3 and MW-6 at concentrations ranging between 180 µg/1 (MW-1) and 1,300 µg/i (MW-3),
however, the laboratory noted that the diesel range hydrocarbons in the samples contained significant
lighter gasoline range compounds
BTEX compounds were detected in water samples collected from MW-1 MW-2 MW-3 MW-5 and
p p ,
MW-6 at concentrations ranging as high as 3,300 µg/1 (benzene, MW-3)
MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260B in water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-4
and MW-6 at concentrations as high as 85 µg/1 (MW-4) No other oxygenated fuel additives were
detected in the ground water samples
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
