' 15 March 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 97-0249 <br /> Page 5 of 10 <br />' 2 5 CPT DRILLING AND GROUND WATER COLLECTION PROCEDURES <br /> A 25-ton truck-mounted CPT drill ng equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods fitted with <br /> a HydroPunch ground water sampling tool utilized a hydraulic ram to advance to specified depths <br /> in each soil boring (Appendix B) A HydroPunch sample tool was pushed into the specified zone, <br /> then withdrawn approximately three feet to expose an inlet screen The interior of the sampling tool <br /> filled with water and a %2-inch outer diameter (O D ) stainless steel bailer was lowered and utilized <br /> to extract a ground water sample Ground water samples were collected from each selected depth <br /> interval (zone)based on previously acquired CPT-hthology data indicating favorable conditions for <br /> sampling ground water All rinseate generated during drilling activities was contamenzed in <br /> properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums, and was stored on-site in an area lacking public <br /> access All soil borings were backfilled over their entire depth with a portland cement grout mix <br /> Following sample collection, each preserved sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed <br /> in a chilled container and transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified <br /> laboratory for analysis for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d, <br /> respectively) by EPA Methods 8015M/5030 and 8015M/3550, respectively, <br /> • Volatile aromatic compounds - benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) by EPA <br /> Method 8020, <br /> • Fuel oxygenated compounds - tertiary butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert <br /> butyl ether(ETBE), tert amyl methyl ether(TAME), methanol, ethanol and MTBE by EPA <br /> Method 8260M, and <br /> • Ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260M <br /> • Total lead by EPA Method 6010/200 7 <br /> 26 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br />' A total of thirty grab ground water samples were collected from soil bonngs P-13, P-14, P-15, P-16, <br /> P-17 and P-18 in November 2001 and submitted for laboratory analysis for the above mentioned. <br /> Iconstituents <br /> Six grab water samples were collected from Hydrologic Unit No 1 (between 10 feet and 35 feet <br />' bsg) TPH-g was detected from water samples collected from P-15, P-16 and P-17 at concentrations <br /> as high as 1,100 micrograms per liter (ug/l), TPH-d was detected from all six water samples at <br /> concentrations as high as 460 E.tg/l,BTEX constituents were detected from P-14,P-15, P-16 and P-17 <br /> Advanced CeoEnwronmental,Inc <br />
