' 17 May 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0249 <br /> Page 6 of 9 <br /> 3 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br />' A total of seventeen soil samples were submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory for analysis of TPH- <br /> g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE and fuel oxygenates TPH-g was detected in three soil samples from <br />' borings MW-2 and MW-3 at concentrations ranging as high as 920 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg) <br /> TPH-d was detected from the same soil samples at concentrations as high as 360 mg/kg <br />' BTEX constituents were detected in eleven soil samples collected from soil borings MWA, MW-2, <br /> MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6 at concentrations ranging as high as 40 mg/kg The highest concentration <br /> Iof benzene was reported in the 10-foot sample from MW-3 at 5 2 mg/kg <br /> MTBE was detected in the 25-foot sample from MW-4 at 0 0063 mg/kg No other fuel oxygenates <br /> I were detected above laboratory reporting limits The analytical results of selected soil samples are <br /> summarized in Table 1 The laboratory reports (Castle Analytical Laboratory Reference No 2167 <br /> and McCampbell Analytical Inc Lab I D No 08588 through 08605) and chain-of-custody forms <br /> Iare included in Appendix C <br /> 3 5 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Sia ground water monitoring well samples and a domestic drinking water well sample(DW-1) were <br /> submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory in April 1999 TPH-g was detected in ground water samples <br /> collected from wells MW-1 through MW-6 at concentrations ranging from 67 ,ug/l (micrograms per <br /> liter) to 24,000 ,ug/l TPH-d was detected from the same samples at concentrations between 97 ,.cg/l <br /> and 6,400 Mcg/l, respectively, however the laboratory reported that the diesel chromatograms for the <br /> samples did not have typical diesel patterns The laboratory data indicates that the greatest <br /> Iconcentrations of dissolved TPH-g and TPH-d are located near well MW-3 (Figure 13) <br /> BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-I through MW- <br /> 6 at concentrations ranging as high as 3,400 Acg/l (benzene, MW-3) <br /> MTBE was detected in a ground water sample collected from MW-4 utilizing EPA Methods 8020 <br /> at a concentration of 18 kcg/l, MTBE was detected in ground water samples collected from MW-4 <br /> and MW-6 utilizing EPA Method 8260 at concentrations of 15 ,ug/l and 38 ,ug/l, respectively No <br /> Iother fuel-oxygenate analytes were detected above laboratory reporting limits <br /> Grab ground water samples collected from domestic drinking water well DW-I did not contain any <br /> I analytes at concentrations equaling or exceeding laboratory reporting limits The analytical results <br /> of quarterly ground water samples are summarized in Table 3 The laboratory reports (Castle <br /> Analytical Laboratory Reference No 2173 and McCampbell Analytical Inc Lab I D No 08835 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
