RECEIVE
APR 17
SAN JOAQUpr4 COUNTY
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENTN nN G LiSN
CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
468-4414
T0: Richard Larrouy DATE: 4-15-91
San Joaquin County
Community Development Dept.
FROM: Peter Burnett, Deputy Sheriff
SUBJECT: Zr-91-12
This proposed zone change has the potential to have a major impact on
the Sheriff's Department and it's ability to maintain the present level
of services it provides.
This acreage is presently used for agriculture and consequently there is
little demand for police services. However, at buildout this development
will consist of a twenty-four hour coffee shop, a motel, a convenience
store/gas station and a recreational vehicle park. These businesses and
the people they will attract will create an increased demand for Sheriff's
services. Continued growth of this nature will necessitate the establish-
ment of a funding mechanism to maintain the present level of Sheriff's
services.
