RESPONSE TO COMMENTS FROM: Gertrude Queirolo, Janice Merritt, and <br /> Darrell Merritt <br /> 1. Mitigation 2, Section 3.6.3 of the EIR specifies hours of operation of the facility. <br /> Mitigation 2 has been revised to prohibit operation during weekends and <br /> holidays, except in emergency situations such as natural disasters. <br /> 2. As stated in Section 1.1 of the EIR, the project will consist of two phases, each <br /> lasting a period of about 5 years. Any significant extension of the extraction <br /> period would be considered out of the scope of this project and would require <br /> modification of the project's permit. <br /> 3. River and other surface water flow are addressed in Section 3.2 of the EIR. <br /> 4. Mitigations for impacts to wetlands and riparian habitat are addressed in Section <br /> 3.3.3 of the EIR. <br /> 5. The EIR is intended to address environmental impacts to the surrounding area <br /> and the community, including adjacent landowners. Environmental impacts are <br /> presented in Section 3.0 of the EIR and mitigations are proposed to reduce <br /> impacts to less than significant levels wherever possible. <br />
