For the above mentioned reasons, the alternative project site considered in this <br /> EIR is located adjacent to, and west of the proposed project as shown in Figure 4.4-1. <br /> This site could utilize the existing processing facility with approximately the same <br /> transportation distance as the proposed project, and would not require use of public <br /> roads for transport of raw aggregate from the quarry to the processing facility. <br /> This alternative would result in similar impacts to the environment with the <br /> exception of noise and visual impacts. The site would be more distant from the bulk of <br /> the population in the area (the town of Clements) and would therefore impose less visual <br /> and noise impacts. <br /> 109 <br />
