8.6 Noise <br /> Mitigation 1. - The loader, haul trucks, and any other heavy equipment shall be fitted <br /> with state-of-the-art noise shielding and muffling devices. Such devices may reduce <br /> noise from individual pieces of machinery by up to 10 dBA over noise without noise <br /> abatement devices (U.S. Environmental Proleclion AvencJ1, 1971). <br /> Implementation Responsibilities: <br /> -Applicant implements mitigation measure. <br /> Schedule: <br /> -The mitigation measures shall be implemented throughout the life of the project. <br /> Monitoring: <br /> -Applicant shall provide equipment specifications to demonstrate compliance with the <br /> mitigation requirements. <br /> Mitigation 2. - Noise generating activities shall be avoided between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. <br /> when they would be most disruptive.
