l <br /> (o) Project Billing: The successful contractor shall be issued a Purchase Order Number. The Contractor <br /> shall submit a request for payment prior to the 25:' day of each month in order to receive payment in <br /> the following month. Such requests for payments are verified by the inspectorlengineer and normally <br /> processed within three to four weeks by the City. Each request for payment shall reference the <br /> Purchase Order Number. Change Orders or additional work shall receive separate purchase order <br /> numbers and payment shall be made by such conveyance. <br /> i (p) General Prevailing Rate: Contractor is hereby notified that pursuant to Section 1770 et. Seq. Of the <br /> Labor Code of the Status of the State of California, the City Council of the City has ascertained the <br /> general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for legal holiday and overtime work for the <br /> locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to <br /> execute the Contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. <br /> E <br /> (q) Addenda: Any addenda or clarification supplementing the drawings or plans and specifications issued <br /> prior to the time set for the opening of the bids shall be covered in the bid and shall be made a part of <br /> the Contract. <br /> f <br /> (r) Opening and Comparison of Bids: Bids will be opened and read at the time indicated in the Notice <br /> Inviting Bids. However, if it deems appropriate, the City reserves the right to'extend the period for <br /> submission of bids. Bidders or their representatives and other interested parties maybe present at <br /> said opening and reading. The City will determine the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for the <br /> work after the proposals have been tabulated for comparison. Bids will be evaluated and compared on <br /> the basis of the total bid of all the base bids of the six (6) separate,schedule',of prices in Division IV of <br /> these specifications. In case of discrepancies between bid amounts in writing and in figures, the <br /> written amounts in all cases shall prevail. <br /> E - - <br /> (s) Construction Site(s): The Contractor shall confine his construction operations within the easement or <br /> street right-of-way limits. The Contractor shall, at his own initiative, make special arrangements with <br /> the property owners or public agency concerned for additional work area needed at no cost to the City. <br /> Any damage to property, either inside or outside the limits of (construction) right-of-way shall be the <br /> responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to furnish th'e City written releases <br /> E; from property owners or public agencies where side agreements or special easements have been <br /> made by the Contractor or where the Contractor's operations, for any reasons, have not been kept <br />! within the right-of-way. <br /> The Contractor, at his own expense, shall provide and maintain enclosed toilets for the use of <br /> employees engaged in the work. Those accommodations shall be maintained in neat and sanitary <br /> E conditions. They shall also comply with all applicable laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to <br /> public.health and sanitation. <br /> r <br /> The Contractor shall at his own expense furnish, install, repair, maintain and remove all temporary <br /> light, power and water, including piping, wiring, lamps and other equipment necessary for the work. <br /> Prior to final acceptance of the work, the Contractor shall thoroughly clean the premises, remove all <br /> C temporary structures built during the project, and remove all equipment and.:'surplus material from the <br /> area. All storage areas and temporary construction easement areas shall be returned to their original <br /> condition prior to beginning construction of the project. <br /> (t} Geotechnical Investigation: Investigations of surface or subsurface conditions have been performed for <br /> the City by Geomatrix Consultants. All test hole data, water table elevations, and soil analyses shown <br /> . on the plans, referenced in the Specifications or included in the geotechnical report apply only at the <br /> location of the test holes and to the depths indicated.
