contained 5 0 ppm TPH-D A groundwater sample collected from the excavation contained 130 <br /> parts per billion (ppb) of TPH-D (IT, 2002b) <br /> In September 2002, at the request of the SJCEHD six direct-push soil borings performed <br /> q were P g <br />' adjacent to the former 2,000-gallon diesel UST location evaluate soil and groundwater quality in <br /> the area Analysis of the soil samples detected TPH-D in one of the borings at a concentration of <br /> 2 7 ppm No benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) constituents or methyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether(MTBE) were detected in any of the soil samples (IT, 2002c) <br />' Groundwater was encountered during bonng activities at depths ranging from 11 feet to 14 feet <br /> below surface grade (bsg) Analysis of groundwater samples collected from three of the borings <br />' detected TPH-D at concentrations ranging from 50 ppb to 390 ppb No BTEX constituents or <br /> MTBE were detected in the samples <br /> In April 2003, a site conceptual model SCM was completed for the site b Shaw The result <br /> P (SCM) P Y s <br />' of the SCM indicate numerous UST systems existed on nearby properties The majority of these <br /> UST systems were located to the south, in the anticipated upgradient direction, with several of <br /> the UST systems reporting leaks, detected upon removal Based on the data, it is surmised that <br /> contaminants from these former UST systems may have impacted underlying groundwater <br /> conditions at the SBC site (Shaw, 2003a) <br /> In July 2003, three monitoring wells were installed at the site No petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> analytes were detected in any of the soil samples collected Following development, the wells <br /> were sampled, with no analytes detected in the groundwater samples (Shaw, 2003b) The wells <br /> were subsequently incorporated into a quarterly monitoring program <br /> 2.4 Quarterly Activities <br /> The monitoring well purging and sampling methods were performed in general accordance with <br />' RWQCB and SJCEHD guidelines Field activities were performed on October 27, 2003 <br /> 2.1 Water Level Measurements <br /> Prior to collecting depth to water measurements, all monitoring wells were opened and allowed <br /> to equilibrate Depth to water measurements were then collected using an interface probe <br /> r <br /> .
