The
purpose of the addendum is to present a soil verification sampling plan for the new underground
gasoline storage tank excavation.
Prior to and during work, the space for the new tanks will be enclosed by shoring to a depth of 15
feet. Therefore, verification soil samples of the excavation will be collected inside the shoring
(Figure 1). We propose to collect samples at five locations as illustrated in Figure 1,by excavating
with a backhoe. Each sample will be collected just above the zone of saturation, at approximately
9 to 10 feet below the surface. The samples will be collected as close to the shoring as feasible.
Sampling and analyses will be performed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the
February 19, 1990 plan. We anticipate that sampling will be performed on May 17, 1990.
3
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 638-2085.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
James R.
