PHSIEHD has a contract with <br /> California State Water Resources Control Board to conduct an underground storage tank <br /> corrective action program. The above referenced site was placed in the PHSIEHD Local <br /> Oversight Program (LOP) in August, 1989, due to an unauthorized release that was discovered <br /> during UST and piping removal. <br /> PHSIEHD recently reviewed a Groundwater Monitoring Report prepared by Cambria <br /> Environmental Technology, Inc. which documents MTBE contamination in groundwater in three <br /> existing on-site monitoring wells and one observation well in the USG backfill. MTBE <br /> concentrations have been as high as 148,000 micrograms per liter in groundwater analyzed. <br /> You are directed to conduct a groundwater investigation that will define the vertical and lateral <br /> extent of contamination.
