J t <br /> fly}/��,/] jnj/Q pjJ0r <br /> 97 jUll_ 21 V411' 149 <br /> July 15, 1997 <br /> Mr. Alex Perez <br /> Shell Oil Products Company <br /> P O Box 4023 <br /> Concord, California 94524 <br /> RE: Quarterly Monitoring Report - Second Quarter 1997 <br /> Shell Service Station <br /> 3725 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, California <br /> WIC #204-7884-0901 <br /> Dear Mr Perez <br /> This Quarterly Monitoring Report describes the recently completed activities <br /> associated with ground water monitoring and sampling at the referenced site <br /> (Plates 1 and 2) This report was prepared to meet reporting requirements issued <br /> by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region and San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division <br /> Monitoring & Sampling Summary <br /> iGround water monitoring and sampling for the second quarter 1997 are <br /> summarized below <br /> • Blaine Tech Services, Inc (Blaine) of San Jose, California measured ground <br /> water levels and collected ground water samples from Wells MW-1A, MW-2A, <br /> and MW-3A on June 5, 1997 Samples were transported to Sequoia Analytical <br /> of Redwood City, California for chemical analysis <br /> • Enviros, Inc (Environ) evaluated water-level measurement data and prepared a <br /> ground water contour map (Plate 2) Ground water appears to flow <br /> northeasterly at an approximate hydraulic gradient of 0 002 <br /> • MTBE was detected in Wells MW-lA and MW-2A at concentrations of 23,000 <br /> ppb and 13,000 ppb, respectively A benzene concentration map was prepared <br /> and is presented on Plate 2 <br /> Quarterly Sampling <br /> Monitoring Wells MW-IA, MW-2A, and MW-3A were sampled and analyzed for <br /> Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons quantitated as gasoline (TPPH) according <br /> to EPA Method 8015 (Modified) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes <br /> (BTEX) and methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether (MTBE) according to EPA Method 8020 <br /> Additionally, a duplicate sample and an equipment blank were prepared and <br /> . analyzed for quality control purposes <br /> Envlros, Inc 270 Perkins Street Sonoma California Tel 7071935 4850 <br /> P 0 Bax 259 95476 0259 Fax 7071,935 6649 <br />
