C' A M B R I A V;CE
03 JU,I 30 AM 11: 56
June 24, 2003
Mr Harlin Knoll
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Avenue,Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Re Site Investigation Report
Shell-branded Service Station
3725 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy, California
SAP Code 136186
Incident No 98996222
Dear Mr Knoll
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc (Cambna) on behalf of Equilon Enterprises LLC dba
Shell Oil Products US (Shell) prepared this report to document site )Investigation activities
performed during December 2001 at the above referenced site (Figures I and 2) This
investigation was performed to assess the vertical extent of gasoline constituents in groundwater
beneath the site The scope of work followed during this investigation was presented in
Cambria's April 26, 2001 Site Investigation Work Plan and was approved by theJSan Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) in their June 15, 2001 letter to Shell The
work was performed in accordance with SJCEHD and Regional Water Quality Control Board
guidelines
The delay in reporting this data results from unresolved encroachment permit issues with the City
of Tracy We were seeking an encroachment permit for the installation of the proposed offsite
wells Since an encroachment permit was never granted we have not installed the offsite wells
During the period of time when we were pursuing the encroachment permit, the periodic
groundwater extraction program dramatically reduced groundwater impact beneath the site The
results of vertical extent investigation (this report) and the apparent success of the remedial
efforts at this site seem to suggest that the installation of additional groundwater monitoring
wells is no longer warranted
Oakland CA
San Ramon CA We had intended to prepare one site investigation report that documented the vertical delineation
Sonoma, CA work as well as the well installation work Since it appears that the wells may not need to be
installed, we are reporting only the vertical delineation findings in this report This report also
Cambna includes our rationale for not installing the five groundwater monitoring wells proposed in our
Environmental
Technology, Inc April 26, 2001 work plan
GeTkins Street
P 0 Box 259
Sonoma CA 95476
Tel(707)935-4850
Fax(707)935-6649
