CAMBRIA
Cambria issued a Sensitive Receptor Survey in November 1999 for the subject site Well records
obtained from the California Department of Water Resources identified ten water wells within
2,000 feet of the site
During August 2002 Cambria video-logged an abandoned water-supply well located at the
subject site The location of this well (RW) is shown on Figure 2 The well was constructed of
six inch diameter steel well casing and was screened from 107 to 115 fbg On February 14,
2003, with permission from SJCEHD, the former water supply well was properly destroyed The
destruction activities are documented in Cambria's April 29, 2003 Well Destruction Report
I
Periodic groundwater extraction has been performed at the subject site since February 2000
Groundwater is currently extracted from well MW-1A and a UST complex backfill well (BF-1)
Groundwater extracted during these events is transported via vacuum truck to the Martinez
Refining Complex where it is recycled As of April 22, 2003, approximately 194,231 gallons of
groundwater has been extracted through this program Calculations based on this volume and
groundwater analytical data from the monitoring wells suggest approximately 5 45 pounds of
TPHg, 0 102 pounds of benzene, and 515 pounds of MTBE have been recovered from beneath
. the site
Wells MW-1A, MW-2A, and MW-3A have been sampled on a quarterly basis since they were
installed Depth to groundwater at this site has ranged from approximately 7 4 to 112 fbg The
predominant groundwater flow direction is to the northeast
INVESTIGATION RESULTS
Personnel Present Geologist Geno Mammim directed the field activities, working
under the supervision of California Registered Geologist
Joe Neely
Permits Cambria obtained monitoring well installation permit from
SJCEHD
nCalifornia License
Drilling Compa y.
