■ Z1 INC
Each soil sample collected from the borings T-1, T-2, and AB-1 were analyzed by a
California State certified analytical laboratory for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPH-G), diesel (TPH-D) using U S Environmental Protection Agency Test Method 8015
(modified) Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) concentrations were
analyzed by U S Environmental Protection Agency Test Method 8020 Total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPRH) were analyzed by U S Environmental Protection Agency Test
method 4181 which detects heavy hydrocarbons
4.51 Boring T-1
Results of laboratory analyses for boring T-1 are shown on Appendix I - Table 10
Petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline were reported from samples collected from depths
of 5, 10, and 15 feet at concentrations of 220 ppm, 160 ppm, and 170 ppm, respectively
Respective reported concentrations of hydrocarbons as diesel were 8,700 ppm, 2,300
ppm, and 17,000 ppm at depths of 5, 10, and 15 feet Total petroleum hydrocarbons
. were reported from depths of 5, 10, and 15 feet at concentrations of 11,000 ppm, 4,700
ppm, and 41,000 ppm, respectively No hydrocarbons were detected at depths greater
than 15 feet
No VOCs were reported from samples collected from 5 and 20 feet Four chlorinated
VOCs were reported at low concentrations from depths ranging at 10 to 25 feet Toluene
and ethylbenzene were reported in the sample from 10 feet at 0 029 and 013 ppm,
respectively
The sample from 15 feet was analyzed for total manganese The total manganese
concentration was reported at 250 ppm This reported manganese concentration is well
within the range of naturally occurring concentrations in sods in this area (Page, 1986)
12270010 013 Page 13
