The purpose of this
t investigation was to document the diameter, length, volume, and orientation'of three
underground storage tanks (USTs) and to investigate three proposed exploratory boring
sites (PEBS) adjacent to the USTs. E
Methods The depth below ground of the top and bottom of each UST was
measured to determine the UST diameter. A probe was inserted into each UST to :.
determine their orientations and lengths. Electromagnetic conduction(EMC)and
electromagnetic induction (EMI) techniques were employed to determine the:surface trace
of the tank-associated lines as well as identify other detectable underground obstructions in.
the immediate vicinity of the.three PEBS.
Results Three USTs were detemined to exist below ground at this fa6lit .

Each UST was 8 feet in diameter and 27 feet long indicating an approximate size of 10,000
gallons each. The product and vent lines for each UST were traced from the pump island
to their respective tanks. Three PEBS were investigated for detectable underground
obstructions.
Brian Hecker
Project Manager
i
