UST#3 Port of Stockton page 2
Port Road G at 13th St, July 30, 2010
Daily groundwater sample collection for dissolved oxygen testing was proposed until
data indicated that a relatively constant level is being produced. In addition, quarterly
groundwater sampling for dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons was proposed. The pilot
tests were proposed to be conducted for six months.
The.EHD considers a six-month pilot test as extreme and recommends that if a shorter
period gathers enough data, thatthe field period be shortened. The sampling frequency
proposed for collecting dissolved oxygen samples could also be utilized .for collecting
groundwater samples for dissolved chemicals of concern (COCs), with some
modifications.
By modifying the sampling frequency for-COCs to weekly for the first two weeks, bi-
weekly for the next month, and monthly for the next month, the pilot test may be
completed sooner. - Favorable data from the pilot tests could support the design,
installation, and activation of a full remedial action in much less time. Please consult
with your-hydrogeologist to ascertain if this modification is possible.
The pilot test work plans are adequate and approved. [H&S 25296.10(c)(3)].
Please contact Mr. James Barton at (916) 464-4615 or by electronic mail at
JBarton waterboards.ca. ov to complete the-requirements to obtain the necessary
permits for injecting oxidants into the groundwater. After. CVRWQCB permitting
requirements have been met, you may submit the EHD Well Permit Application Forms
and fees for review andp rocessing. You will :be notified when the permit has been
issued so you may schedule a date with the drilling contractor.
You may contact Mr. Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
