151
1
UST#3 Port of Stockton page 2
Port Road G at 13th St,
The EHD is not familiar with Precision Enviro-Tech's BST protocol. Please submit a
copy of their protocol to the EHD so that it may be compared to the ITRC guidance
document and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)
Waste Discharge Requirement (WDR) evaluation checklist or advise the EHD that you
will be following ITRC and CVRWQCB guidelines for-conducting BSTs.
The EHD has evaluated the construction specifications included in the plan for the
additional monitoring wells. Although the existing monitoring wells were installed with
25-foot long screened intervals, the EHD will not permit additional wells to be
constructed with these long screened intervals. Historical depths to ground water at this
site show that the most shallowest depth to first ground water is 8 feet below ground
'i surface and the deepest is 13 feet. A ten or fifteen foot screen in the proposed
monitoring wells is sufficient. if you can justify the need°for ground water sampling at
deeper intervals, then additional wells can be installed adjacent to these (clustered). If
you advise the EHD that 25-foot screened intervals will not be installed, then the plan
can be approved without a revision.
You may email Mr. lnfurna with you' acknowledgements requested or submit a revised
plan. Mr. lnfurna can be reached by electronic mail at minfurna(a)sicehd.com. Mr.
lnfurna can also be reached at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
Michael J. lnfurna Jr., REHS Margare agorio, REHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist Program Coordinator
Mil
' c: Mr. James L.
