extraction volumes, and parameters are included on the field purging and sampling form included
in Appendix A. The wells were allowed to recharge to at least 80% of their respective static water
levels prior to sample collection_ The 300 gallons of purged water was taken to Riverbank Oil
Transfer under Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest number 21658809 by American Valley Waste
Oil, Inc. A copy of the signed bill of lading is included in Appendix C.
The samples were recovered using clean, disposable bailers, and were then transferred into 40-m1.
VOA vials. All samples were labeled, placed in an ice chest, chilled with ice to 4° C, and
transported to Precision Enviro-tech Analytical Laboratory (an ELAP-certified laboratory in
Stockton, California) for analysis using appropriate chain-of-custody procedures.
The results of all current and previous groundwater gaugings are summarized in Table 1. The
average depth-to-water on May 16, 2002 was 11.23 feet below the top of the casing elevation of
the three project monitoring wells. At that time, the local direction of groundwater flow
(utilizing elevation data from the monitoring wells) was calculated at approximately North 80°
West along a gradient of 0.00249 foot/foot (equivalent to 2.49 feet of dip per 1000 feet of
horizontal distance) (see Figure 2).
TABLE 1
HISTORICAL GROUNDWATER SOUNDING DATA
Port of Stock#on Former UST Site No.3, San Joaquin County
well Date Depth To Casing Top Water Table
Avg.Flow Direction: .
Number Sounded Water(Ft) Elevation(Ft) Elevation(Ft) &Gradient.(Ft/Ft)
From"Casio
MW3-1 07/09/99 11.10 9.35 -1.75 East Northeast
@ 0.004 ft/ft
10/22/99 11.40 -2.05 North 40°degrees west
@ 0.024ft/ft
02/08/00 10.99 -1.64 North 16°degrees east
@ 0.008ft/ft
05/17/00 10.08 -0.73 East 22°degrees south
@ 0.012ft/ft
09/14/00 11.75 -2.40 South 6°degrees east
@0.014-ft/ft
02/14/01 11.29 -194 South 22°degrees west
@0.035f/ft
5/17/01 10.77 -1.42 North 17.3°degrees
west @ 0.0028 ft/ft
08/22/01 12.55 -3.20 West 32°degrees south
@ 0.0044 f}Ift
11/19/01 12.86 -3.51 West 46.7°degrees
south @ 0.0051 ft/ft
2119102 10.96 -1.61 North 9.2°degrees east
@ 0.00323 ff/ft
5116/02 11.44 -2.09 North 800 degrees west
0.00249 ft/ft
11th qtr um skO.doc 5
