GEOMsaTRIX
holding containers on site After monitoring well installation and development are complete,
' the location and elevation of the well wiII be surveyed by a licensed land surveyor
' 2.2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
Groundwater samples will be collected initially from the newly installed monitoring well and
' then will be incorporated into the regular monitoring round for the three previously-installed
monitoring wells at this site Prior to sampling each well, the presence of free-floating PHC
product will be assessed using a clear Teflon or acrylic bailer The water level will then be
' obtained using an electroiuc sounder Subsequently, at least three casing volumes will be
purged from the well Field parameters will be measured periodically during purging, and
' samples will be collected when parameters reach relatively constant values A clean, decon-
tammated, Teflon or acrylic bailer will be used to collect the water sample for laboratory
' analysis
Groundwater samples will be preserved and transported under chain-of-custody procedures to
' Precision Enviro-Tech, a California ELAP-certified laboratory, for PHC analysis The samples
will be analyzed for BTEX using EPA Method 8260 and for TPH-g using EPA Method 8015m
2.3 TECHNICAL REPORT
' Upon completion of the field investigation and laboratory testing, a technical report will be
prepared documenting the field activities and summarizing the results of the exploration boring
' and monitoring well sampling The report will include figures depicting the exploration boring
and monitoring well locations, existing site features, and groundwater gradient It will also
include tabulated analytical results, hthologic and well construction logs, and copies of permits
obtained for the work
2.4 HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Health and Safety plan for this subsurface investigation is contained in Ross (1999),
Appendix A A copy of this plan will be available on site during the field work This plan is
not intended for use by other contractor's personnel involved with this work
' 3.0 SCHEDULE
It is estimated that the proposed scope of work can be completed within about 8 to 10 weeks
following approval of this plan, depending upon drilling subcontractor availability
I\PROIECl16437 00016437 Wk Pln Site 3 doc 7
