Your rational was that primarily due to the elevated water table, <br /> the contat inants might have vertrcaly migrated to the subsurface soils below the groundwater table <br /> The following describes the amended procedures for field investigMions at each of the subject sites <br /> As described in the Work Plans, continuous core samples wnll be collected utilizing ft <br /> Geoprobe dirert-push method in the initial boring dniled at each UST site. The core will be collected <br /> for the purpose of characterizabon of subsurface Irthology, PHC impact, and depth to groundwater <br /> at the UST site The continuous core samples %mil be collected in dear plastic or acrylic liners. <br /> labeled,capped, and temporarily stored in ice chests on site Sod ems will be examined for visual <br /> indications of discoloration and PHC odor,and screened wrath a portable photoionization detector for <br /> the presence of organic vapors. Based on sod-core exarrrinetiM a minimum of two soil samples, <br /> spaced 5-feet apart, will be selected from the continuous Care and st,bMitted to the laboratory for <br /> analysis of PHCs, even if the selected samples are collected from blow the water table.
