7Theation rate was determined from the perc rate to be 0.123 gallons/ft2/day. The total length
hline trenches is 375 LFLL, or 1,500 ft' of floor and sidewall area. Therefore, the
leachline trenches (excluding the sumps) can mange: 0.123 gallon /day x 1,500 ft2= 185 gpd.
For comparison purposes, taking a water usage of the Men's and Women's Restrooms of 4 gallons
(2 gals for each Restroom) of water usage every 10 minutes over an 8 hr day, we find a total water
volume used of. 4 gals x 6x/hr x 8 hr/day= 192 gpd. This illustrates that the leachline soils can
manage very high usage flows simultaneously from both Restrooms.
NLS§ 4.2, SSS§6.7. As the effluent infiltrates into and percolates downward from the soil-
effluent interface, the saturated soil conditions will create an anaerobic environment certainly
within the tight loam soils, thus promoting denitrification and retarding nitrification.
As referenced in the Introduction, a highly sophisticated irrigation and fertilizer system to irrigate
and feed the plants will be installed for this facility. Irrigation runoff will be absolutely minimal,
orders of magnitude less than a conventional agricultural operation.
lJ'
f111"
l
AN
Uck .
Page -9-
Chesney Consulting
