Your rational was that primarily due to the elevated water table, <br /> the contaminarift aught have vertically migrated to the subsurface soils below the groundwater table_ <br /> The following descnIAs the amended procedures for field investigations at each of the subject sites. <br /> As described in the Warts Plans, continuous cone samples will be collected utaLcinq-the <br /> Geoprobe direc4wsh method in the initial boring drilled at each UST site. lite cone will be collected <br /> for the purpose of characterization of subsurface lithology, PHC impact, and depth to grcwndwater <br /> at the UST site. The continuous cora samples will be colleded in dear plasvc or acrylic liners, <br /> labeled,capped, and temporarily stored in ice chests on site. Soil corns m be examined for visual <br /> indications of discoloration and PHC odor.and screened with a portable photoiomization detector for <br /> the presence of organic vapors. Based on sail-Core examination,a minimum of two soil samples, <br /> spm 5'1eet apart,will be selected from the continuous core and submitted to the laboratory car <br /> analysis of PHCs, even if the selected samples are collected from below the water table. Soil <br /> samples will be analyzed for the constituents descried in Section 3.2 of the Work Plans, <br /> Examination of the cure samples will provide target locations for collection of a minimum of two sal <br /> samples and one groundwsw sample in each of the remaining borings at each site. <br /> GENERAL OFFICE: 2201 W.
