STATE OF CALIFORNIA - Environmental ProtecoAgency • PETE WILSON, Governor
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION _
3443 Routier Road, Suite A :
Sacramento, CA 95827-3098 4
PHONE: IS 16) 255-3000 ''xnwrtrr
FAX: (916) 255-3015
7 December 1994
Ms. Betty Cenbrano
H&M Transport
707 East Roth Road
French Camp, CA 95231-0690
SOIL EXCAVATION AND BIOREMEE IATION, H&M TRANSPORT/INTERSTATE
DISTRIBUTOR COMPANY, FRENCH CAMP, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
I have reviewed the 23 November 1994 Excavation Sampling Report submitted by
Kleinfelder, Inc. for the H&M Transport facility in French Camp. I agree with
Kleinfelder's conclusions that no further assessment or remediation of the East Pond site
is needed. In accordance with the Soil Bioremediation Work Plan, samples are to be
taken quarterly from the landfarmed soils to monitor the bioremediation progress. Please
submit a letter report of these results by 17 March 1995.
Contradictory statements have been made regarding past landfarming practices at the site.
Because of this, you may backfill the excavation with either clean imported fill or on-site
borrow material which has been adequately sampled and deemed to be "clean".
If you have any questions or comments, you may call me at (916) 255-3077.
)5=)
JO M.
