TestAmerica
Laboratories is certified under California's Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program.
Soil
Two soil samples per boring (BA-1@10, BA-1@30, BA-2@10 and BA-2@30, BA-3@5 and BA-3@35)
were analyzed by the laboratory.
No significant PID readings (greater than 0.1 parts per million by volume ["ppmv"]) were reported
from soil boring BA-1 located near the existing gasoline USTs and former used oil UST, therefore the
10 foot bgs soil sample was analyzed to assess the bottom of the USTs. The 10 foot bgs soil sample
was also analyzed from soil boring BA-2 which had no detectable PID readings for all soil samples
in the boring. The 5 foot bgs soil sample was analyzed from soil boring BA-3 to assess the bottom
of the fuel dispensers as no significant PID readings (greater than 0.3 ppmv) were reported from
the soil samples in the boring. Soil samples from the bottom of each boring were analyzed from
soil borings BA-1 through BA-3.
Soil samples collected from soil borings BA-1 through BA-3 were analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline range organics ("TPH-GRO") by United State Environmental Protection
Agency "EPA" Method 8015; and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes ("BTEX"), methyl
Cert butyl, ether ("MTBE"), ethyl tert butyl ether ("ETBE"), tert amyl methyl ether ("TAME"), di-
isopropyl ether ("DIPE"), and alcohols, such as tert-butyl alcohol ("TBA") and ethanol by EPA
Method 82608. Due to the proximity of a former used oil UST that does not appear to have been
assessed to date, soil samples collected from boring BA-1 were also analyzed for TPH as diesel
range organics ("TPH-DRO") and as oil range organics ("TPH-ORO") by EPA Method 8015 and
VOCs by EPA Method 8260B.
Groundwater
Three grab groundwater samples (BA-1-W through BA-3-W) were collected and analyzed for TPH-
GRO by EPA Method 8015; BTEX, MTBE, ETBE, TAME, DIPE, TBA, and ethanol by EPA Method 82608.
Groundwater sample BA-1-W was also analyzed for TPH-DRO and TPH-ORO by EPA Method 8015;
and VOCs by EPA Method 82608.
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
Soil
Tables 1 and 2 summarize the laboratory analytical results for soil from this investigation. Laboratory
reports, quality assurance/quality control ("QA/QC"), and COC documents are presented in
Attachment 3. Soil data is presented in dry weight.
Design with community in mind
