(ARCADIS) has prepared this letter on behalf of the Union
April 26, 2011
Pacific Railroad Company(UPRR) regarding the Former Maintenance Facility
located at 720 East 6th Street in Tracy, California ("the Site"; Figure 1). This letter
Contact;
' presents recommendations to keep or destroy select monitoring wells at the Site. James Eisert
Well network recommendations and the rationale to keep or destroy select 916.786.1871
' monitoring wells are summarized on Table 1 and locations of existing wells are
provided on Figures 2 and 3.
Email:
' james.eisert@aroadis-
There are currently 127 groundwater wells associated with the Site. Existing us.com
groundwater wells consist of a variety of types, such as injection wells, extraction
wells, monitoring wells, and piezometers. Of the 127 on-and off-site wells, 87 wells oarref:
are recommended for destruction which would provide 40 wells for potential future RC000709.0002.00010
use. ARCADIS will make recommendations of revised sampling frequency and
' analytical methods for the updated monitoring well network under separate cover.
ARCADIS subcontractor, Blaine Tech Services (Blaine Tech) conducted well head
' maintenance during the March 2011 groundwater sampling event. Blaine Tech was
unable to locate three wells (MW-17B, MW-186, and MW-19A). Blaine Tech
suspects the three wells are either buried under pavement or are located in deep
I vegetation.Additional investigation will be necessary to locate these three wells
(which are proposed for destruction).
I ARCADIS has evaluated the potential use of the 127 wells and Table 1 provides a
summary of the wells proposed for repair and or destruction. The proposed A-Zone
monitoring well network is provided on Figure 4 and the proposed B/C-Zone
Imonitoring well network is provided on Figure 5.
Imagine the result
