Department (EHD) has required AKF <br /> Development, the former landowner for the Spreckles Sugar Plant #2, to remove or <br /> properly address all of the monitoring wells previously installed to investigate the <br /> groundwater conditions at the site. <br /> The EHD issued well destruction permits for the monitoring wells located in the <br /> surrounding properties and witnessed all of the well destructions. The EHD also <br /> inspected areas where monitoring wells were either previously removed or covered by <br /> new buildings. The EHD has determined that all of the wells have been properly <br /> destroyed or adequately addressed and has no remaining concerns related to the <br /> monitoring wells. <br /> This letter is to advise you that no additional requirements are needed with regard to the <br /> monitoring wells and you may continue with your procedures for the No Further Action <br /> determination. <br /> You may contact Michael Infurna at (209)468-3454 if you have any questions. <br /> Sincerely <br /> Michael J.
