' Cal Tank Testing
3296 S. Mooney Blvd.
iq4 Visalia, CA 93277
(209) 625-9911
' January 27, 1988 P-1146-88
Mr. David Clark, P. E.
The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Co.
' One Santa Fe Plaza
5200 E. Sheila St.
Los Angeles, CA 90040
' Dear Mr. Clark:
1 Cal Tank Testing (CTT) has completed the work for removal of four
storage tanks located at AT & SF Railway Company (AT & SF)
facilities near Scotts Avenue in Stockton, California. The
procedures and results of this work are described in the attached
Draft Report. Following your review and incorporation of any
comments, the report will be finalized for submittal to the County
of San Joaquin, San Joaquin Local Health District.
' The report contents include a description of tank-removal
procedures conducted, and field and laboratory findings of tank-
excavation soils. In brief, these findings indicate that the soils in
the vicinity of three steel tanks removed from the Scotts Avenue
locality appear to contain hydrocarbons above detection limits (i.e.,
diesel; bunker oil). Analytical results from two soil samples
' beneath a concrete tank vault at the locality, however, range from no
detection to low concentrations of hydrocarbons.
' We appreciate being of service to AT & SF Railway Company and
trust that the information provided is satisfactory for your present
needs. Should you have any questions or would like to discuss the
contents of this report in greater detail, please contact me.
' Sincerely,
Cal Tank Testing
' Doc Quinn, Manager
DRQ:DHK:so
