The monitoring was conducted in accordance with Monitoring and
Reporting Program R5-2003-0801. The report provides the 5 and 6 August 2004 groundwater
monitoring analytical results for the site now occupied by Alden Park in Tracy, CA.
There are 21 monitoring wells associated with this project; eleven of the wells were purged and sampled,
nine contained free product, and one well (MW-2) was dry. Concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d)were not detected (ND) in six wells and ranged from 59 gg/L to 520
gg/L(w/o silica gel cleanup) for the five wells having detectable TPH-d concentrations.
According to the report, during this sampling event, petroleum hydrocarbons were reported in three
wells that have never reported detectable petroleum concentrations or they have not been reported for
sometime. This event reported TPH-d at 59, 210, and 190 µg/L,respectively in MW-l/KJC, MW-8,
and MW-11. Previously,MW-1/KJC reported 75 gg/L TPH-d in October 2000 and ND in 2003 and
2004. MW-8 has only been sampled two times previously(August 2003 and February 2004) and results
were ND. In MW-11, TPH-d at 400 and 230 µg/L, respectively, was reported in 2000 (July and
October). Review of the data indicates that for unknown reasons there were periods of time when
MW-l/KJC and MW-1 1 and several other wells were not sampled (1997 through 1999 and 2001
through early 2003).
California Environmental Protection Agency
n Reeccled Paper
