File No. 20-3937-01 kn <br /> KLEINFELDER <br /> September 3, 1996 <br /> contaminant level (MCL) of 0.006 mg/I (6.0 µg/I) expressed in 22CCR §64444. <br /> However, 1,1 - Dichloroethylene has been detected in groundwater within various <br /> properties in this industrial area. Additionally, 56 pg/l of TPH-Unidentified Extractable <br /> Hydrocarbons (in the C 10 to C24 carbon range) was detected in the groundwater sample <br /> obtained from monitoring well MW-2. The TPH-UEH is in the diesel hydrocarbon <br /> range but does not resemble the pattern of the diesel standard's chromatogram. No <br /> TPH-UEH was detected M any of the other groundwater samples obtained. <br /> Additionally, there is no MCL or SMCL for TPH-UEH in 22CCR. KIeinf6lder does not <br /> recommend any :further investigation or clean-up at the proposed Schaeffer site. <br /> However, .Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to the <br /> RWQCB and :PI-1S/EHD for their review and comment. Additionally, Kleinfelder <br /> recommends that a letter of"no further action" be requested from both agencies (for that <br /> which is within their jurisdiction). Kleinfelder makes no legal recommendation or <br /> opinion as to the liabilities associated with these contaminants being present in <br /> A groundwater. <br /> 5. The several drums of equipment decontamination rinseate and purgewater remain on site. <br /> Those drums and the three small piles of drilling returns (soil) should be properly disposed <br /> of by the Client. Kleinfelder can assist the Client in that disposal at an additional charge if <br /> requested by the client. <br /> 6. If discolored soil, odors, or other evidence of contamination are encountered during <br /> ' site grading, development, etc..., our office should be notified immediately. <br /> 7. A copy of this report should be submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Department Environmental 1-Iealth :Division and the Central Valley Office of the <br /> State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board by the Schaeffer Industries for <br /> their review and consideration. <br /> This report is subject to the limitations found .in Chapter 7 of this report. <br /> 20-3937-01/MR960189 Page 3 of 18 01996.
