Alaniz, John
From: Norm Lumpkin <nlumpkin@bcpaintingsolutions.com>
Sent: Friday, May 1, 2020 11:23 AM
To: Alaniz, John
Subject: RE: Sand Blast Media
Attachments: Sand Blast ACT 2017.pdf, KleenBlast Letter.pdf
John,
I am a bigtime bonehead. I really looked at that analytical today. That was an analytical provided by A.C.T. because they
wanted to do business with us.They wanted to replace Freemouw by doing our waste stream 55gallon drums, our once
a year wash tank and they wanted to do our new sand blast waste stream. So they did an analytical on our blast media
BUT we never did use A.C.T. for our blast media. That was just an analytical they did before giving us an estimate of the
costs to do our blast media. They also did analytical's on our liquid wastes. We did use them 2 times to remove 55 gallon
steel drum containers but went back to using Freemouw after that because A.C.T. raised the price way higher than what
they had quoted. A.C.T. has never removed our sand blast media. I am also attaching a letter KleenBlast sends me
before they do a pickup.
Norm
From:Alaniz,John [mailto:jalanizl@sjgov.org]
Sent: Friday, May 1, 2020 9:16 AM
To: Norm Lumpkin <nlumpkin@bcpaintingsolutions.com>
Subject: RE: Sand Blast Media
Hi Norm,
I was looking over the violation and saw that I also included results needed for sampling done on
8/3/2017. You sent me the results for 2018. 1 looked at the past return to compliances you sent me and did
not see a complete 2017 result. I need that 2017 result to close the violation as well. See violation below.
Sand blast analytical results from California Ag & Environmental Services (8/3/2017) showed a result of 2600
mg/kg
for barium, 140 mg/kg for chromium, 340 mg/kg for copper, 64, mg/kg for lead, and 1100 mg/kg for nickel. No
STLC results were found for barium, chromium, copper, lead, and nickel and no TCLP results were not found
for
barium and chromium.
Sand blast analytical results from Enviro-Chem, Inc. (8/14/2018), did not contain any quality control results.
Thank You,
John Alaniz
From:Alaniz,John
Sent: Friday, May 1, 2020 8:33 AM
To: 'Norm Lumpkin' <nlumpkin@bcpaintingsolutions.com>
Subject: RE: Sand Blast Media
Hi Norm,
1
