Limited Subsurface Investigation <br /> STOCKTON ROYAL THEATER <br /> 1825 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. James Byrd, of the Stockton Worship Center,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for the property at <br /> 1825 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California(the site). The work is being performed as part of a due <br /> diligence for a property transfer. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site <br /> is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> This work plan was prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department(EHD) for the procurement of a soil boring permit,and is in accordance with Appendix <br /> A to Tri-Regional Recommendations -Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared by the Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site, located at 1825 Pacific Avenue in the city of Stockton, California, is situated in an area of <br /> mixed commercial and light industrial use.The property is presently occupied by the Stockton Royal <br /> Theater. One large-screen and three smaller-screen theaters are located at the site. A small parking <br /> area is located at the south end of the property. <br /> 2.1. BACKGROUND/SITE HISTORY <br /> Research of historical fire insurance maps(Sanborn)of the site and surrounding area,indicates that <br /> the southern portion of the site was occupied by a gasoline service station from approximately the <br /> 1950s until the early 1970s (when the southern addition to the theater was constructed). No record <br /> of removal of the USTs was available during historical research performed by AGE. A copy of the <br /> 1950 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map is attached. <br /> 2.2. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The site is situated within the southern portion of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of <br /> California, a large, elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough; the northern and <br /> southern portions of the Province have been designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, <br /> respectively.The Province is bordered by the Coast Ranges to the west,the Klamath Mountains and <br /> Cascade Range to the north, and the Sierra Nevada to the east. <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
