Site investigation work to characterize and delineate the extent of
contamination in soil and groundwater at the Site was initiated in May 2016 under the oversight
of the Central Valley Water Board. Based on results of the May 2016 investigation (documented
in the July 2016 Site Investigation Report), additional investigation was warranted to better
define the 1,2,3-TCP and nitrate plumes at the Site. Additional soil and groundwater
investigation work was conducted in June 2018, and analytical results and activities conducted
for this investigation are presented in the Report.
The June 2018 investigation included collecting soil and groundwater samples from six borings
(B42 through B47) and installing two groundwater monitoring wells (MW-4 and MW-5) to depths
of approximately 25 feet below ground surface (bgs). Soil samples were collected from depths
of approximately 2, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 feet bgs in borings B42 and B43, from depths of
approximately 2, 5, and 10 feet bgs from borings B44, B45, B46 and B47, and from depths of
approximately 5 and 10 feet bgs in MW-4 and MW-5. Grab groundwater samples were collected
from shallow groundwater at depths of approximately 15 to 23 feet bgs from borings B42
through B47, and also at a depth of approximately 30 feet bgs from borings B42, B43, B46, and
B47. Groundwater sampling of existing monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) and the
newly installed wells (MW-4 and MW-5) was also conducted during June 2018. Collected soil
and groundwater samples were analyzed for 1,2,3-TCP and nitrate.
KARL E.
