03 January 2017
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0121
Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail.
2.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable drilling and site assessment permits will be submitted to the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD), while encroachment permits will be
obtained from the City of Stockton Public Works Department. As required by EHD
permitting, a health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational
Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National
Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to drilling activities, each proposed drilling
location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground
Service Alert.
2.2. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
AGE proposes to drill two shallow, soil borings (SV-1 and SV-2) at the site as part of a
soil-vapor investigation and to evaluate potential vapor intrusion. Proposed soil boring
locations are illustrated on Figure 2.
Based upon laboratory results of soil samples collected during the investigation, AGE
proposes the soil boring locations in the following areas:
• Soil boring SV-1 will be located between the former UST area and the
southeastern corner of the property building, (southeastern corner of building).
• Soil boring SV-2 will be located east of the southern portion of the property building,
and approximately 40 feet northwest of the former UST area (eastern wall of
building).
Soil and soil-vapor samples will be collected from borings SV-1 and SV-2 at depths of
approximately 5 feet (soil) and 6'/2 feet (soil-vapor) below surface grade (bsg). Field
procedures for advancement of soil borings, collection of soil sample, installation of soil-
vapor sampling points and collection of soil-vapor samples are presented in Section 3.2.
Soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Public Health
Services (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with
EPA Method 8015M; and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), naphthalene, fuel
oxygenated compounds (MTBE, DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane
(1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) and all other VOCs in accordance with
EPA Method 8260B.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
