(AGE). The Nomellini Construction Company
property is located at 1045 West Charter Way in Stockton (Site). !
f
In the Work Plan, AGE proposes to install two (2) soil gas wells, SV-1 and SV-2, and to collect s
soil gas samples. AGE proposes to collect soil samples from each boring at approximately 5
feet below ground surface (ft bgs). AGE will analyze the soil samples for:
1
• total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA method 8015M, and; l
• benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (collectively BTEX), naphthalene,
I
methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tert amyl methyl ether(TAME),
tent butyl alcohol (TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and ethylene dibromide (EDB),
and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA method 82606.
1
F
I
AGE proposes advancing the soil gas borings to a total depth of 6.5 ft bgs, and proposes c
constructing the soil gas wells with a six (6) inch long gas implant attached to '/4-inch diameter I
Teflon TM tubing with the implant placed at 6 ft bgs. AGE will construct the soil gas wells with a j
filter pack extending from 6.5 ft bgs to 5 ft bgs. AGE will collect soil gas samples a minimum of
48-hours after well installation. Lastly, AGE will cover the sampling equipment with a shroud and #
will place isopropyl alcohol soaked cotton balls within the shroud as a leak detection compound.
Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with the scope of work presented in the Work Plan, i
provided the following comments are addressed:
1. Prior to purging or sampling, a shut-in test should be conducted to check for leaks in the
above-ground sampling system. Please see section 4.2.1 of the Department of Toxic
Substance Control's April 2012 Advisory—Active Soil Gas Investigations.
2. In the Work Plan, proposed analytical parameters for soil gas samples are listed twice,
on page 3 and page 5. However these lists do not match. Soil gas samples should be i
KARL E.
