AECOMStandard Operating Procedure <br /> DPT Groundwater Sampling <br /> • Small diameter PVC riser and screen. <br /> • Decontamination supplies. <br /> • Health and safety and personal protective. <br /> • Sample containers,preservatives,coolers, labels,and ice. <br /> • Sealable plastic bags. <br /> • Field documentation equipment(log books and log sheets, indelible pen). <br /> 4.2 Borehole Abandonment and Site Restoration Equipment <br /> • Granular bentonite and funnel,or bentonite slurry <br /> • Cold-patch asphalt material and quick-set concrete <br /> • Grout(97%Portland cement/5 gallons fresh water miture) <br /> • Ample amounts of potable water <br /> • Health and safety equipment <br /> 5.0 Procedures <br /> 5.1 Pre-Drilling Requirements <br /> Call USA North at least 24 hours prior to drilling. <br /> Drilling locations shall be no closer than 25 feet to overhead utilities. The appropriate utility <br /> companies will be contacted to provide insulation of utility lines prior to commencement of <br /> drilling activities. <br /> The supervising geologist/engineer shall record the name of the drilling firm and the names of the <br /> driller and his assistant(s). The date,project location, project number, and weather conditions <br /> shall be recorded as well. <br /> An accurate time log of drilling activities shall be kept. This log shall be kept in the field logbook <br /> and shall include at a minimum, the following: <br /> • Time driller and rig arrive on-site, <br /> • Time drilling begins, <br /> • Any delays in the drilling activities and the cause of such delays, <br /> • Time drillers go off-site, and <br /> • Down time(those periods when drilling activities cease due to equipment malfunctions, <br /> weather, ordered stoppages). <br /> Prior to commencement of sampling, verify that the drilling equipment has been properly <br /> decontaminated, as specified in SOP Soil Sampling,before beginning penetration. <br /> 5.2 DPT Groundwater Sampling <br /> The following procedure will be followed for DPT groundwater sample collection. <br /> 1. Advance the sampler into the water table or to the Work Plan-specified depth and collect a sample <br /> using one of the following sampling devices: <br />
