r r,
29 May 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0925
ANALYTICAL METHODS
The collected soil and ground water samples were transported under chain-of-custody to Cal Tech
Environmental Laboratories (CTEL), a California Department of Health Services-certified
laboratory, for analysis for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
• Volatile aromatic compounds - benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (BTEX) with
methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) - in accordance with Method SW846 8021.
FINDINGS
Field observations did not detect the presence of volatile organic compounds (utilizing the OVM)
or petroleum hydrocarbons-like odor in the soil and grab ground water samples collected.
A total of three soil samples and three grab ground water samples were submitted to CTEL for
analysis as noted above. No target analytes were detected in the analyzed soil and ground water
samples. The analytical results are summarized in Table 1. A copy of the laboratory report (CTEL
Laboratory IDs 0205-125-5,0205-125-10,0205-125-15 and 0205-125-17 through 0205-125-19)is
included in Appendix A.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon non-detectable concentrations of contaminants in soil samples, and non-detectable
concentrations of contaminants in inferred down-gradient ground water samples,AGE recommends
that no further action be taken at the site.
LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluation of the
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from
a limited number of available data points (i.e. soil and ground water samples) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made
as to the professional interpetations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
