Job Steps Hazards Controls RAC <br /> Mobilization/ Site Set Up Slips, Trips, Falls Clear trees, roots, weeds, limbs and other ground hazards L <br /> from the drilling location. Practice good housekeeping to <br /> keep the ground around the drilling site clear of obstructions, <br /> equipment, and other tripping hazards. Wear appropriate <br /> foot protection to prevent slips and trips. Use caution when <br /> working on uneven and wet ground surfaces. <br /> • General equipment hazards • All equipment will be properly secured during transport. <br /> • Overhead and underground • All vehicles and equipment will comply with DOT <br /> utilities requirements. <br /> • Noise Hazard • Never move the hydraulic push rig with the mast upright. <br /> • Pinch points/swing radius Ensure the sampling site foundation is stable and as level as <br /> • Chemical exposure potential possible. <br /> • Eye Injury • Use a ground guide along with a functioning back-up alarm <br /> • Fire during equipment backing. <br /> • Confirm Utility Locations <br /> • Inspect vehicles and equipment daily(Checklists provided in <br /> HASP) <br /> • Maintain clean and organized work area. <br /> • Wear appropriate clothing and PPE, (no loose clothing or <br /> jewelry) <br /> • Earplugs and/or ear muffs required in EZ <br /> • Position the drill rig and personnel up wind of drilling location <br /> • Monitoring breathing zone with PID and upgrade PPE as <br /> required. <br /> • Avoid creating splash hazards while drilling. <br /> • Keep a safe distance from drill rig. <br /> • Use hand signals, keep clear of moving equipment, and <br /> ensure eye contact with operator prior to approaching. <br /> • Have fire extinguisher on site. <br /> • Contact with utilities • Inspect for buried and overhead utilities in the vicinity of the <br /> drilling location. Clearance will be required, as stipulated in <br /> the HASP. <br /> • Traffic in adjacent roadway • Use combination of vehicles, cones, traffic barriers, and <br /> caution tape <br /> Boring Process • Cuts • Wear appropriate work gloves to prevent cuts, lacerations M <br /> • Dermal Contact • Wear appropriate protective clothing to avoid dermal or <br /> personal clothing contact with sampled material. <br />
