3) Emergency fire department personnel should be contacted immediately. If the fire involves <br /> hazardous chemicals, the emergency responders must be informed of such. <br /> Chemical Spills (no injury) <br /> If a chemical spill occurs on site, the following steps should be taken: <br /> 1) If properly trained personnel with appropriate PPE are present, begin spill containment <br /> immediately. <br /> 2) Immediately report the spill to the Site Health and Safety Officer. The initial report shall <br /> include at least the following information: <br /> Identify the person and their employer reporting the spill. <br /> • Type and description of released material. <br /> • Estimate amount of material released. <br /> • Extent of injury or property damage occurring. <br /> • Extent of actual or potential environmental damage if known. <br /> • Information concerning the spill reaching or potentially reaching the plant storm <br /> sewer system. <br /> • Identify the actions being taken in response to the spill. <br /> • Identify the assistance required to respond to the spill. <br /> Incident Report Forms <br /> Incident response forms are included in Appendix A. These forms must be filled out and submitted <br /> to EnSafe in the event of an injury or spill, after the emergency response is complete and the <br /> situation is stabilized. In addition, a "Investigation Report" form is also provided and should be <br /> used where appropriate. <br />
