' Ms. Amy Terrell
31 October 2008
Page 2
' SAMPLING PROCEDURESS
' Groundwater monitoring and Remediation Pilot Study monitoring was performed on 19 August
2008. Blaine Tech Services, Inc. (Blaine Tech) of Sacramento, California, performed all
' fieldwork associated with the sampling event. Blaine Tech's field report, including sampling
procedures and logs, is provided as Attachment 1.
' GROUNDWATER ELEVATIONS
Table 2 summarizes groundwater levels measured during the current and previous sampling
' events. Well locations and top of casing (TOC) elevations were surveyed for all Site monitoring
wells on 31 August 2007 as part of the Expanded Pilot Test. TOC elevations presented in Table
1 and historical groundwater elevations presented in Table 2 reference the August 2007 survey
' data.
' Groundwater levels beneath the Site in August 2008 ranged from 62.40 to 61.91 feet above mean
sea level (ft MSL). Groundwater elevation contours and sampling data from the 3' quarter 2008
and 1St quarter 2008 sampling events are shown in Figures 3a and 3b, respectively. The
groundwater flow direction for the 3rd quarter 2008 monitoring event was to the southeast.
Figure 4 shows historical groundwater elevations for all monitoring wells at the Site. MW-4 had
' a significantly lower depth to groundwater compared to the other on-site monitoring wells in
January 2008; however, the depth to groundwater measured in the August 2008 sampling event
' was similar to the other on-site wells.
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
' The samples collected during semi-annual groundwater monitoring were analyzed by Calscience
Environmental Laboratories, Inc. (Calscience), of Garden Grove, California. The groundwater
' monitoring program is summarized in Table 3 and the Expanded Pilot Test Monitoring Program
is summarized in Table 4.
' Analytical results are presented in Tables 5 and 6 and in Figures 5 through 10. The Calscience
analytical laboratory report is provided as Attachment 2. Table 5 provides historical data for the
past five years. Table 6 provides data from the pre-injection baseline monitoring event for the
' P:\PRJ2003REM\WFS\VER\VERG\3Q08\Report Text\3Q08 Report WFS-VER.doc
engineers I scientists I innovators
