File No. 20-3978-01.1`02 KLEINFELDER
November 5, 1996
The hand auger borings will be sampled according to the protocol described in
Attachment B. The soil samples collected will be field screened using an organic vapor
detector as described in Attachment B, Section B-2.2. The hand auger borings will be
backfilled with the cuttings generated during sampling.
Laboratory Analysis
Each of the soil samples selected for quantitative analysis will be submitted under chain-
of-custody control to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories (Sequoia) of Sacramento,
California. Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances to
perform the requested analyses. It is anticipated that samples will be analyzed on a
normal laboratory turnaround schedule, which usually requires approximately 10 to 15
working days.
Up to two soil samples from each boring location (26 total samples) will be submitted for
analysis. The samples will be selected based upon field observations, qualitative field
screening results, and the depth in the boring. Each of the soil samples will be analyzed
for :
Number of No. of
Sampling Hand Auger Samples Sample
Location Borings Submitted Analysis
Chemical 4 8 .
