File No. 20-3978-O1.WR7 KI K L E IN F E L D E R
November 22, 1996
custody protocols. The one-foot deep hand auger borings will be backfilled with the
auger returns.
The hand auger borings will be logged, and sampled according to the protocol described
in Attachment B. The soil samples collected will be field screened using an organic
vapor detector as described in Attachment B, Section B-2.2. The hand auger borings will
be backfilled with the cuttings generated during sampling.
Laboratory Analysis
Each of the samples selected for quantitative analysis will be submitted under chain-of-
custody control to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories (Sequoia) of Sacramento, California.
Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances to perform the
requested analyses. It is anticipated that samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory
turnaround schedule, which usually requires up to 10 working days for receipt of
analytical data. The soil samples will be analyzed for the following:
Sample Location Number of Sample Analysis
Samples Analyzed
Former Fuel/Steam 20 soil samples • TPH-Extractable as diesel and motor
Line (2 per boring) and 3 oil (fuel fingerprint) by EPA Method
water samples 8015M
• TPH-Purgeable, BTEX, MTBE by EPA
Methods 8020/8015M
Almond Orchard 25 soil samples • Organochlorine Pesticides and PCBs by
EPA Method 8080
• Herbicides by EPA Method 8150
REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of the soil sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results,
a report will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols; -
• Lithologic logs and, if appropriate, interpreted geologic cross sections;
• Tabularized results of soil sample analysis with copies of certified analytical
laboratory results with chain-of-custody documentation;
• Conclusions and recommendations.
20-3978-0I.WR7/MR960268 Page of 0/996, Kleinfelder, Inc.
