Ll KLEINFELDER
File No. 20-3978-O1.W32
May 23, 1997
also prepare a health and safety plan for use in the field. The health and safety plan will be
included as part of the workplan.
Laboratory Analysis
A total of two composite samples and two confirmation samples will collected and transported
under chain-of-custody control. The soil samples will be transported to the Kleinfelder office in
Stockton and then transported by courier in a sealed container to Sequoia Analytical of
Sacramento, California (Sequoia) for chemical analyses. Sequoia is certified by the California
Department of Toxic Substances to perform the requested analyses. The four soil samples will
be analyzed for- Total Threshold Limit Concentration (TTLC) and Soluble Threshold Limit
Concentration (STLC) Lead. It is anticipated that samples will be analyzed on a normal
laboratory turnaround schedule, which usually requires up to 10 working days for receipt of
analytical data.
Transportation and Disposal of Excavated Soil
RAH Environmental will transport the excavated soil in DOT approved 55-gallon drums to an
approved sanitary landfill following receipt of analytical results for said soil. For purposes of
this proposal and the attached cost estimate, we assume the soil will be classified as a "Non-
RCRA Hazardous Waste".
Report Preparation
Upon completion of the soil sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results, a
report will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Bills of Laden and Hazardous Waste Manifests;
• Tabularized results of soil sample analysis with copies of certified analytical
laboratory results with chain-of-custody documentation;
• Conclusions and recommendations.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment.
01997,Klein elder,Inc.
20-3978-0l.W321/20I7P0l8 Page 5 of 8 .(
