540 West Scotts Avefe • August 4, 1997 <br /> Project 9644 Page 1 <br /> ' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' William Dubovsky Environmental (WDE) has been retained by Acme <br /> Galvanizing Company to perform a five-year review and re-evaluation of the <br /> treated and stabilized soil at the former Acme-Stockton Galvanizing Works <br /> located at 540 West Scotts Avenue in Stockton, California. A site plan showing <br /> the site is attached as Figure 1. The five-year review and re-evaluation is required <br /> ' under Enforceable Agreement Docket Number HSA 90/91-012. The agreement is <br /> between Region 1 (Northern California Section) Toxic Substance Control <br /> Program, Department of Health Services and Acme-Stockton Galvanizing Works. <br /> The Enforceable Agreement was signed by the parties on December 26, 1990. The <br /> assessor parcel number of the site is APN 147-040-48. The five year review and <br /> re-evaluation will include: <br /> ' Inspection of the integrity of the asphalt cap covering the treated and <br /> stabilized soil at the site. Photographic documentation of the asphalt cap <br /> Iwill be included in the report. <br /> Drilling one soil boring in the approximate center of the stabilized soil to 5 <br /> ' or 6 feet beneath the asphalt cap. Collect samples of the stabilized material <br /> and of the underlying soil for laboratory analyses. <br /> ' Monitor and sample the three groundwater monitoring wells on the site <br /> and analyze the groundwater samples. <br /> Prepare working drawings which will show the location the asphalt cap, <br /> the boring location and the positions of the three existing groundwater <br /> ' monitoring wells. <br /> Publish a summary report documenting the work carried out along with <br /> ' conclusions and recommendations. <br /> The details of the proposed work are described in later sections of this work plan. <br /> Field work will be performed in compliance with a site-specific Health and <br /> Safety Plan.
