540 West Scotts Avefe • August 4, 1997
Project 9644 Page 3
samples collected from monitoring well MW-2 indicated concentrations of zinc
and lead below the method detection limits of 0.01 parts per million (ppm) and
0.05 ppm, respectively. Analytical results of groundwater samples collected from
monitoring well MW-3 reported concentrations of lead and zinc at 0.56 ppm and
' 14 ppm respectively. (Chemical Data Management systems Groundwater
Sampling Report,Acme Galvanizing Site Stockton California April 25, 1996).
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
' 3.1 Permits and Notification
A soil boring application will be submitted to the San Joaquin County Public
' Health Service, Environmental Health Division for the drilling of one soil boring.
The boring will be located in the approximate center of the asphalt cap. The
proposed location of the soil boring is shown on Figure 2.
' Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified at least two working days (48
hours) before soil boring activities begin at the site. The proposed soil boring
ilocation will be outlined with white paint prior to contacting USA.
The Department of Toxics Substance Control (DTSC), the lead agency will be
notified a minimum of five days before beginning field activities at the site.
3.2 Site Survey And Photographic Documentation
t The three existing monitoring wells MW-1 MW-2 and MW-3 will be located and
the casing top elevations surveyed for vertical elevation by a licensed Civil
Engineer. A revised site plan will be prepared to scale and submitted with the
report.
' The dimensions and location of the asphalt cap along with the location of the
completed soil boring, will be determined by a Civil Engineer. A revised site plan
showing the stabilized soil area, the asphalt cap, the boring location and the
positions of the three groundwater monitoring wells will be prepared and
submitted with the report.
' Photographs of the asphalt cap will be taken before and after soil boring activities
The purpose of the photographs is to document the integrity of the asphalt cap.
A detailed description of the condition of the cap will be made in the field to
accompany the photography documentation. Based upon the collected field
information a Civil Engineer registered by the State of California will certify the
condition, adequacy and performance of the asphalt cap.
' WILLIAM DUBOVSKY ENVIRONMENTAL
Environmental Consulting ♦ Project Management
