540 West Scotts Av*e • August 4, 1997
Project 9644 Page 5
and stabilized material will be removed and disposed at a suitable facility after
' characterization,profiling and acceptance.
3.4 Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling
' The depths to groundwater levels from the surveyed casing top will be measured
using an electronic water meter accurate to 0.01 foot After depth to water
measurements are recorded, groundwater monitoring wells MW-1 MW-2, and
MW-3 will be purged of approximately three well volumes of water or until the
pH, conductivity and temperature have stabilized indicating formation water has
entered the wells. Groundwater samples from each monitoring well will be
placed into laboratory provided containers using disposable bailers. Each
groundwater sample will be properly labeled with the sample number, date and
time of collection and sampler initials. Groundwater samples will be placed on
frozen water in an insulated cooler. A chain-of-custody form will be filled out to
document the groundwater sample collection and will be kept with the samples
' until relinquished to a California certified laboratory for analyses.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for:
Lead by EPA Method 200.7
Zinc by EPA Method 200.7
The laboratory will be requested to perform all analyses with detection limits at
least as low as the Regional Water Control Board maximum contaminate levels
(MCLs) for drinking water of 0.015 ppm and 2 ppm for lead and zinc,
respectively.
Using the depths to groundwater, the casing elevations and the horizontal
positions of the three groundwater monitoring wells, a site specific groundwater
gradient will be calculated and presented in the report in graphic and
mathematical form.
4.0 REPORT
' Results of the subsurface investigation will be provided to DTSC and will include
a description of the work performed, laboratory analytical results, a groundwater
gradient, site specific maps and figures, photographs, and a boring log. The site
' plan, groundwater gradient plan and any other site specific figures will be drawn
to scale. Conclusions will be based on the data collected during the re-evaluation
investigation and historical data. Specific conclusions regarding the conditions
and performance of the asphalt cap will be made. Recommendations will be
made based upon the conclusions and will include the need for and frequency of
WILLIAM DUBOVSKY ENVIRONMENTAL
Environmental Consulting ♦ Project Management
