Note the thick sand from <br /> about 86 feet to 108 feet which will be intercepted with the <br /> upper screened interval from 90 to 110 feet. This is the reason <br /> for setting the depth of the grout seal to 84 feet. It allows me <br /> about 4 feet of safety margin above the top of the screen, and <br /> allows the grout seal to be landed in the clay occurring between <br /> 80 and 86 feet. <br /> On the left side of the figure are shown three zones--upper, <br /> middle, and lower. The middle zone has a TDS of only 229 mg/1, <br /> which is lower than the zones occurring above and below. The <br /> middle zone reflects the zone we will be producing from in the <br /> new wells 4 and 5. <br /> The quality of the middle and lower zones were determined from <br /> TH-3 and TH-1, respectively (TH-2 was not drilled) .
