The containers <br /> were: <br /> -One blue 55 gallon drum with"pathology specimens"observed with no hazardous waste label. Operator states that <br /> pathology specimens are managed as hazardous waste, but could not provide labeling descriptions at the moment. <br /> Drum found in "RCRA waste shed"in the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the <br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition <br /> (contents), accumulation start date <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label the containers as required for hazardous waste. Provide a corrective <br /> action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD)within 30 days. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by February 27th, 2020 . <br /> Starting September 1, 2018, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate ($152). To schedule an <br /> appointment, please call (209)468-3420. <br /> Documents provided during inspection: Return to compliance certification, Hazardous waste labeling minimum <br /> requirements, missing manifest(019362991JJK) <br /> Waste streams found: Medical Waste (Barium sulfate, M-Cresol, Silver Nitrate, Buffered Formalin), <br /> Chemotherapy waste (Melphalan), Toxic Pharmacy Waste (insulin, silver cream, Oxytocin), Lab Stain <br /> (chromium potassium iodide), Alcohol solution (Chlora Prep), Universal waste lights, non-pcb ballast, Universal <br /> waste alkaline and lithium batteries, Universal waste lead acid batteries, universal waste aerosols, metal fines. <br /> Note: Operator states metal fines are being treated as hazardous waste as of late 2019.
