APPENDIX B
Diamond Pet Food Processors of Ripon,LLC June 30,2011
Report of Waste Discharge—Groundwater Modeling Page 5 of 5
Calibration also was assessed by plotting the modeled heads as groundwater-elevation maps. Figure
B-5 shows the modeled heads for the calibration runs. The modeled heads match observed heads
relatively well. The model correctly replicates groundwater mounding beneath the irrigated field and
ASB #2. The pumping wells show about 7 feet of drawdown in layer 5 (the intermediate aquifer).
After flow calibration, the model was calibrated for transport. For transport, the aquifer property of
longitudinal dispersivity was adjusted until modeled TDS represented the general pattern of observed
TDS. The model showed a fair replication of TDS values to observed data.
010107.00, Task I Lawrence&Associates
w:Iclientsldiamondpetfoods1010107.00-riponrow&diamondpet rowd_june2011 draft.docX
